In contrast to just going and picking up tickets and festoons from the stores, we enjoyed making them ourselves. Our Tambola games were supposed to be very ordinary and simple but when five of us Bindiya, Sunita, Varalakshmi, Tajinder and I got together to discuss we ended up with these Butterfly themed games and of course the décor for the room. The beauty of a butterfly’s wings is likened to women for their elegance. Women overcome a change in life as they play many roles which are compared to a butterfly. Interestingly, a woman too undergoes many changes in her life like the butterfly. Actually, the similarity stems from the graceful walk of a woman when compared to the floating flight of a butterfly. That’s how we landed with our theme, as July has no important dates or festivals. It was certainly not because the butterfly symbolizes femininity but for the simple reason that the saris we five hostesses were going to wear had butterflies on them. Let me bring to light how our Butterfly Theme Tambola came about.
